Dimapur, September 14 (EMN): Microsoft today announced new updates to the Xbox App on Windows 10 PCs enabling users to stream their Xbox Series X/S games directly on their PC.

The new update will also allow Xbox Series X/S players to stream all the games through the cloud on Xbox Game Pass.

On its official Xbox website, Jason Beaumont, Partner Director, Xbox Experiences wrote, “So today, we’re opening up new possibilities for you to remotely play console games on your Windows 10 PCs (or later) with updates to the Xbox app, including support for playing Xbox Game Pass games from the cloud and playing games directly from your console with Xbox remote play.”

This is the first time that Microsoft has enabled remote play on PC for its Xbox Series X/S consoles since the Xbox One in 2015. Players can now stream games from consoles in 1080p at up to 60 frames per second and can also enjoy a host of original Xbox and Xbox 360 games.

“This marks the first time we’ve enabled Xbox Remote Play on PC for Xbox Series X|S owners. We’ve also made additional upgrades from previous iterations of Remote Play, such as general stability updates, allowing for games to stream at 1080p up to 60fps, and adding the ability to play select Xbox 360 and Xbox Original games, which has been one of the most highly-requested features,” wrote Beaumont.

There are 294 console games available through the cloud on Game Pass Ultimate and the new update will allow players to finally stream console exclusive games on their PC. Microsoft says that Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 countries now have the ability to stream console games on their PC easily by just hitting on the Cloud Gaming button in the Xbox app.

“Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 countries can now play Game Pass games directly from the cloud in the Xbox app on Windows 10 PCs. Game Pass members have been enjoying Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) via the browser on their phones, tablets and PCs and now can enjoy all the benefits of gaming from the cloud directly from the Xbox app,” wrote Beaumont.
