Nagaland records single-day rise of 50 Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 50 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s tally to 30,485 and active caseload to 707.
The state’s death toll also increased to 620 with two more fatalities registered in the last 24 hours, while 48 fresh recoveries pushed the recovery tally to 28,226.
According to the department of Health and Family Welfare, 30 patients in Dimapur, nine in Kohima, six in Mon, four each in Mokokchung and Phek, two each in Tuensang and Wokha, and one each in Kiphire and Zunheboto
Out of the 48 fresh recoveries, 22 were in Dimapur, nine in Kohima, six in Mon, five in Mokokchung, and three each in Phek and Tuensang.
The state currently has 707 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 556 asymptomatic, 97 mild, 15 moderate on oxygen, 21 severe on oxygen, 10 in ICU without ventilator, and eight in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise break-up of active cases, Dimapur leads with 338, followed by Kohima with 127, Mokokchung- 109, Phek- 41, Mon- 35, Zunheboto- 21, Wokha- 13, Peren- 8, Kiphire- 7, Longleng- 5, and Tuensang- 3.
India logs 37875 new cases
India recorded 37,875 new coronavirus infection on Wednesday, taking the tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,30,96,718, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
It said the death toll climbed to 4,41,411 with 369 fresh fatalities.
Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 3,91,256 with 39,114 patients having recovered in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries so far is 3,22,64,051 at 97.48% recovery rate.
It said that with the administration of 78,47,625 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 70.75 crore (70,75,43,018).
