Wangnao inaugurates CTI commandant’s office

Advisor of Home Guards, Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Noke Wangnao, inaugurated the commandant’s office at Central Training Institute (CTI) in Toluvi village, Dimapur, on Friday.

Speaking at the programme, Wangnao insisted on good trainers in order to produce ‘good seeds.’ As trainees would come from different places, Wangnao urged the authorities at the institute to train them well in order to handle any kind of calamity.

While citing instances of some personnel from other departments indulging in intoxicating substances and other bad habits, Wangnao called upon the officers to bring out quality and well trained personnel from the institute.

Also speaking at the programme, the director general of SDRF, Civil Defence, Home Guards and Prison, Rupin Sharma, informed that the campus started functioning since 1988 where a number of people and volunteers have been trained till date. He also informed that the state government has notified CTI as the training institute for private security agencies.

Stating that untrained security personnel have no value, he however stated that “if we are able to train them even to use fire extinguisher properly, then that will have value.” He further encouraged the officials to continue performing their duty well with diligence.

Presenting the technical report, Hutoshe, executive engineer of Police Engineering Project (PEP), informed that the total project cost was INR 3,78,28,000. According to the report, the construction firm, Ms NB Contorsium, commenced the on October 11, 2019, and completed on July 31, 2021.

Pastor of CTI church, Asemba Longchar, said the invocation prayer, while the commandant general, Bendang Lemtur, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme, chaired by the deputy commandant general, Medozhalie Penyie, was attended by all rank and files of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF.
