Hideo Kojima wants to make new adventure game after playing 12 Minutes
Dimapur, August 20 (EMN): Hideo Kojima does not often comment on other games, however, the legendary creator has recently taken to social media to express how much he loved playing 12 Minutes.
The Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding creator has been all but impressed with the time-loop adventure game from Annapurna Interactive, so much so that he wants to make a new adventure game of his own.

Hideo Kojima said on Twitter that he enjoyed playing 12 minutes so much that he literally didn’t realise he had been playing for four hours.
“It’s great! I lost track of time and just played it for about four hours!” Kojima wrote on his English Twitter account. “I haven’t been into a game this much since Inside. A time loop adventure game of good sense and style.”

Kojima then wrote, “Kinda makes me want to create another adventure game.” Needless to say, the tweet received a lot of attention and excitement.
In his subsequent tweets, Kojima laid praise on Willem Dafoe‘s performance in the game. Spider-man and Platoon actor, Dafoe, plays as the antagonist in the game alongside James McAvoy and Daisy Ridley.
“Normally I’d welcome him, as I’m a huge fan of him, but after playing 12 Minutes, I’m afraid he’s going to punch me,” Kojima said of Dafoe’s performance. “Nice casting though.”
Even now, I feel like Dafoe is going to come in the front door in ten or so minutes…

It is fascinating to see a game like 12 Minutes make an industry legend like Kojima excited. The game has been living virtually rent-free inside Kojima’s head for quite a while and the fact that it has inspired him to want to create an adventure game of his own suggests it has had a huge impact on him.
It is nice to see game creators praising the work of other creators and praise from a legend like Kojima must have been an honour for 12 Minutes developers.
We are curious to see what kind of adventure game Hideo Kojima could bring to the table after this. What we do know is that Death Stranding Director’s Cut is slated for a release on September 24.
