Nagaland records 92 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death on Friday

Dimapur, Aug. 20 (EMN): Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 29,482 as 92 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Friday.
The Health and Family Welfare department updated that out of the 92 new positive cases detected on Friday, 39 were in Kohima, 21 in Dimapur, 20 in Mokokchung, four in Tuensang, three in Phek, two in Mon, and one each in Kiphire, Peren and Wokha.
The state’s death toll increased to 595 with one more fatality reported in the last 24 hours, while the state’s recoveries rose to 26,991 following the recovery of 76 patients.
On Friday, 38 patients recovered from Dimapur, 23 in Kohima, nine in Mokokchung, three in Tuensang, two in Kiphire, and one in Peren.
Nagaland currently has 1,032 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 795 are asymptomatic, 187 mild, 24 moderate on oxygen, 14 severe on oxygen, five in ICU without ventilator and seven in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 378 active cases, followed by Kohima with 265, 229 in Mokokchung, 39 in Zunheboto, 25 in Wokha, 22 in Mon, 17 each in Kiphire , Longleng and Tuensang, 16 in Peren, and seven in Phek.
36571 new cases in India
Meanwhile, India recorded 36,571 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 3,23,58,829, while active caseload decreased to 150 days low of 3,63,605, according to Union Health Ministry’s data.
The country’s death toll climbed to 4,33,589 with 540 more fatalities, while total recoveries rose to 3,15,61,635 after 36,555 patients recuperated in the last 24 hours.
The update went on to inform that weekly positivity rate has reduced to 1.93% and daily positivity rate to 1.94%.
