Kohima, Aug. 3 (EMN): Minister of Health and family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom clarified starred questions raised on the first day of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Tuesday.

Medical centres in Chozuba

Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom informed that there were 37 posts sanctioned against Community Health Centre (CHC) Chozuba with two medical officers and added that all posts, except one post each of staff nurse and sweeper, had been filled up.

Replying to the starred questions raised by Chotisuh Sazo, he said that the vacant posts were on account of recent retirement.

Phom also furnished details of the names and designation of the employees at the CHC. He stated that officers and staff were not appointed or posted against the Trauma Centre at Chozuba since no separate posts were approved for appointment under the scheme for establishing the same. ‘The facility is under CHC Chozuba, it is being manned by the existing staff,’ he said.

He also furnished the details of life-saving equipment, materials and medicines provided to the CHC and PHCs under Chozuba sub-division for fighting against Covid-19.

Covid-19 vaccination drive

S Pangnyu Phom informed that the number of persons administered with first dose of Covid-19 vaccination in Nagaland were 6,02,985 while those who had been administered with the second dose were 1,42,269 as on  July 26.

Phom stated that with a view to cover the eligible population, the government had intensified the ongoing vaccination drive by way of inter alia mobilisation of beneficiaries through outreach activities carried out by the district task force by involving officials of Health and Family Welfare department, the administration and other departments, civil society and faith-based organisations.

“Village councils/ward committees are also being sensitised before mobilisation in the respective villages for the voluntary vaccination,” he said, adding, “Covid vaccination centres are also being organised in other than health facilities such as workplaces to facilitate beneficiaries”.
