Nagaland reports 159 new Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths; 41649 infections in India

Nagaland reported 159 new Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, pushing the state’s active caseload to 1,329 and tally to 27,872.

The state’s death toll due to the Covid-19 also increased to 552 with five deaths reported in the last 24 hours, while the cumulative recoveries rose to 25,193 after the recovery of 95 more patients.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that 61 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in Kohima, 47 in Dimapur, 26 in Tuensang, 15 in Mokokchung, four in Peren, three in Mon, two in Phek, and one in Wokha.

The state also recorded 95 recoveries with 43 of them reported in Kohima, 26 in Mokokchung, eight in Peren, seven in Dimapur, six in Kiphire, four in Phek and one in Longleng. 

Nagaland currently has 1,329 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1068 are asymptomatic, 192 mild, 34 moderate on oxygen, 22 severe on oxygen, six in ICU without ventilator and seven in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Kohima has 501 patients, 418 in Dimapur, 195 in Mokokchung, 60 in Tuensang, 39 in Mon, 35 in Peren, 23 each in Phek and Wokha, 15 in Kiphire, 12 in Longleng. and eight in Zunheboto.

7.67 lakh doses administered

The state immunisation officer, Dr. Ritu Thurr, updated that a total of 7,67, 535 (7.67 lakh) doses of Covid-19 vaccine, have administered in Nagaland as on July 30. This included including 6,16,961 (6.16 lakh) first dose beneficiaries and 1,50,574 (1.50 lakh) second dose.

The category-wise break-up of Covid 19 vaccination status in the state found that 15,966 Health Care Workers had received first dose and 12434 second dose, while 60,796 frontline workers had received first dose and 39,572 second dose.

In 45 years and above category, 1,85,115 (1.85 lakh) people had received first dose and 98,249 second dose, while 3,55,084 (3.55 lakh) from 18-44 years group had received first dose and 319 second dose.

41649 fresh cases in India

Meanwhile, India on Saturday reported a single-day rise of 41,649 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the total tally to 3,16,13,993 (3.16 crore) and active caseload to 4,08,920 (4.08 lakh), according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said that the death toll rose to 4,23,810 (4.23 lakh) with 593 more people succumbing to the virus.

Meanwhile, 3,07,81,263 (3.07 crore) people have recovered from Covid-19 while 37,291 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

Cumulatively, 46,15,18,479 vaccine doses have been administered through 54,94,423 sessions while 52,99,036 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
