Fire destroys one building in Dimapur

Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): A two-story building at Supermarket area in Dimapur, was reduced to cinders in a devastating fire which broke out on Friday morning at around 3 am.
The building, popularly known as ‘Bamboo Bazaar’, was said to be a residential-cum-restaurant.
It was reported that one Bolero car, parked nearby the building ,was also damaged in the incident.
Sources from the Fire and Emergency Services informed that three fire tenders were pressed into service after recediving information about the fire at around 3 am. Sources added that it took two hours for the fire fighters to control the inferno.
According to sources, the building houses few shops and restaurant as well as residence to a family. The cause of the fire was suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit.
It was informed that properties worth approximately INR 10 lakh were destroyed, while properties worth INR 20 lakh could be salvaged.
No casualty was reported in the fire incident.
