Nagaland records 76 new Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

Nagaland recorded 76 new Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday, taking the state’s tally to 24,041.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 76 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, 29 were in Kohima, 14 in Dimapur, 11 in Peren, nine in Mokokchung, four in Tuensang, three in Phek, two each in Mon and Kiphire, and one each in Wokha and Zunheboto.

The state also recorded 398 recoveries in the last 24 hours out of which 233 were in Dimapur, 55 in Kohima, 41 in Tuensang, 29 in Mokokchung, 25 in Zunheboto, six in Wokha, five in Phek, three in Longleng, and one in Peren.

The state currently has 2368 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 2159 are asymptomatic, 119 mild, 51 moderate on oxygen, 19 severe on oxygen, 17 in ICU without the ventilator and three in ICU with ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 930 active cases, 545 in Mokokchung, 503 in Kohima, 137 in Tuensang, 60 in Mon, 50 in Zunheboto, 40 each in Wokha and Phek, 26 in Kiphire, 22 in Longleng, and 15 in Peren.

The state has also registered 20,525 recoveries so far and 452 deaths, out of which five were reported in the last 24 hours.

More than 67K new cases in India

Meanwhile, India reported 67,208 fresh Covid-19 cases on Thursday, pushing the country’s cumulative infection tally to 2,97,00,313, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The country’s Covid-19 death toll has climbed to 3,81,903 with 2,330 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 2,84,91,670, while the case fatality rate has increased to 1.29 per cent, the data stated.

Moreover, 26, 55, 19, 251 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
