Nagaland records highest single-day spike of 366 Covid-19 cases, registers 12 deaths

Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): Nagaland registered 366 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, which is highest single-day spike the state has ever recorded since the pandemic started last year, pushing the tally to 17,256.
The state also recorded 12 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 166, out of which 11 have been ruled “not Covid-related”.
The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, update that out of 366 new Covid cases, 164 were in Dimapur, Kohima- 128, Mokokchung- 13, Wokha- 12, Zunheboto- 12, Kiphire- 10, Mon- 9, Phek- 7, Tuensang- 5, Peren- 3, and Longleng- 3.
He added that 91 patients — Dimapur- 66, Mon- 10, Kohima- 8, Mokokchung- 6, and Zunheboto- 1 – recovered during the same period, taking the total recoveries to 12,968.
Out of the 3551 active Covid-19 cases, 3220 asymptomatic, 181 mild, 47 moderate on oxygen, 88 severe on oxygen, five in ICU without ventilator and 10 in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise distribution of active Covid cases, 2248 are in Dimapur-, 956 in Kohima, 88 in Mon, 70 in Mokokchung, 48 in Tuensang, 29 in Kiphire, 29 in Zunheboto, 25 in Longleng, 24 in Phek, 19 in Peren, and 15 in Wokha.
