Dimapur, April 1 (EMN): Commemorating the celebration of 75 years of India’s independence, the Economics department of Modern College Kohima, (MCK), organised a prepared speech competition on the topic “Role of youth in nation building” on March 26.
An update from the college stated that a short presentation on “Jawaharlal Nehru: Towards Independence” was presented by S Anthony, assistant professor of Political Science.
It stated that Chongboi Singson of BA 6th semester was adjudged the winner, while Tokiho Achumi of BA 4th semester and Takanungba Pongen of B.Voc. 6th semester secured the first and second runners-up respectively. The judges of the competition were the college’s principal Dr. Vitsou Yano, head of Education department Dr. Daili Kholia, and assistant professor of Political Science Shahilo Khing. The event was sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.
