Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): As many as 1,324 persons were administered with the Covishield vaccine in Nagaland on Wednesday, taking the total number of beneficiaries in the state to 8,948 till date.
Out of the total number of people vaccinated for the Covid-19 in the state so far, 6,629 were healthcare workers and 2,319 were frontline workers from administration, police, central forces etc., according State Immunisation Officer, Dr. Ritu Thurr.
“No adverse events needing medical intervention have been reported till date after the vaccination,” the official updated, adding that more than 6.6 million people from across India have received Covishield and Covaxin vaccines till date.
Meanwhile, an update from DPRO Kohima informed that1278 healthcare workers and 517 frontline workers have been vaccinated in the district till date.
District Immunisation Officer, Kohima Dr. Rupert Peseyie informed that February 20 is the last date for vaccination of healthcare workers, while mop up will be for five days and last date for frontline workers to get first dose the vaccine is March 6, the update read.
It went on to add that vaccination for frontline workers will be conducted on Thursday at session sites of IGAR (N), 78 BN CRPF and 14th AR Tsiesema with a target of 100 each.
