Dimapur, Dec. 9 (EMN): The Indian Dental Association Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) requested all the dental professionals both in government service and private practitioners to show solidarity and join the protest by withdrawing all non-essential and non-Covid services on December 11 from 6 am to 6 pm.
The protest has been initiated against the government of India’s decision to allow Ayurveda practitioners to perform various surgical procedures involving the eye, ear, nose, throat and dental procedures like extractions, filling and root canal treatment.
IDANSB president Dr. Kaketo Yepthomi and the honourary secretary Dr. Vichovol Temi have asked the government to take appropriate steps by considering the sensitivity of the modern medicine and dental profession. They felt that integration of all systems of medicine would only lead to “mixopathy,” confusion and complications.
It further stated that IDA planned to continue and intensify the agitation until the steps towards implementing the “mixopathy” are abandoned.
