Tribal bodies of eastern Nagaland won’t join proposed 14 Naga Tribes Forum
Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): The six tribal bodies of eastern Nagaland have declined to ‘participate in the formation of 14 Naga Tribes Forum as proposed’; but they would participate in the meetings of 14 Naga tribes only in regard to a “unified Naga political solution”.
The decisions were made in a joint meeting of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and the six tribal bodies in Dimapur on Tuesday, according to a press release from ENPO media cell.
They also decided that the six tribal bodies would not participate in the meetings of 14 Naga tribes without prior consent from the ENPO.
“Road communication being the backbone for any human development, the joint consultative meeting further resolved that ENPO shall not allow any undue taxation and unnecessary deductions by any individual, agent or group against all the ongoing road constructions within eastern Nagaland. The ENPO shall not compromise the quality of workmanship from any contractors in its jurisdiction,” it stated.
