Cough syrup smuggler runs into hiccups as police make big drug catch

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]wenty one cartoon boxes containing two thousand and one hundred bottles of the banned cough syrup, Phensedyl, worth around Rs. 201,600 has been confiscated by enforcement from the possession of one Sinam Rakesh of Manipur. Police have arrested the 27 years old person was arrested on Monday when he was on way to Manipur with the contraband.“The consignment was reportedly procured from Guwahati, Assam at the rate of Rs. 96 per bottle and was supposed to be delivered at Imphal. However when the Manipur bound bus B/R No. MN-01/1514 was checked at Peducha check-gate by the DEF Kohima personnel manning the check-gate, it was detected during routine frisking duty,” the police informed in a note on Monday.
