Drugs worth INR 2.40 crore seized in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, Oct. 21 (EMN): Karbi Anglong police seized a huge quantity of drugs worth INR 2.40 crore from Dillai police check post during a special Naka checking here on October 21 afternoon at around 12:20 pm.
As per the police report, police personnel manning the check gate intercepted a six-wheeler truck and on thorough search recovered 20 packets of Yaba tablets (containing a total of 40,000 tablets) from inside the cabin of the truck.
In this connection, three persons identified as Hussain Ahmed (21) from Moirang village, Nawaj (20) from Lilong village and Wahidur (19) Lilong village were arrested.
All the three accused persons are from Manipur, the report stated.
During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the drugs were transported to Guwahati from Imphal. The market value of the seized drugs was estimated to be approximately INR 2.40 crore.
