Noklak devises master plan for comprehensive development

Dimapur, Sep. 17 (EMN): A co-ordination meeting of all the frontal organisations and area leaders was organised on September 16 at the DC’s office conference hall, Noklak, to discuss master plan for development of Noklak district, vision document on education 2030, and sustainable human resource development.

The co-ordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner of Noklak, Reny Wilfred.

The meeting focused on bringing a comprehensive development in the district as a collaborative effort of all the concerned stakeholders and the district administration, a DIPR report stated on Thursday.

It stated that the DC presented an outline of a perspective plan for overall improvement in the district, focusing on education career guidance, skill development, tourism, agricultural and agri processing, handicraft to boost the local economy of the district.

The house also discussed on the developmental activities in the entire Noklak district in different sectors and found out that there are a lot of developmental activities which need to be taken up for overall developmental and uplift of the new district.

The report stated that different organisations presented opinions on developmental activities in their respective areas.

Participating in the discussion, the president of Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), L Ngon, thanked the DC for taking initiatives and expressed hope that it would come to reality. He also assured full support to the district administration.

Also speaking at the meeting, the president of Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU), P Hatho, presented an overall scenario on education system in Noklak. He highlighted problems faced by government schools such as shortage of teachers and proxy teaching issues. He suggested improvement of pre-school through strengthening of Anganwadi centre and the need to create awareness on the scholarship schemes.

Meanwhile, the house also discussed on the need to form a Noklak unit of the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) to look into the welfare of the teachers in the district.

The report further stated that the district administration had taken note of all the inputs and grievances expressed by the participants. The administration also assured to endeavour in all the possible ways for improving the overall conditions and called upon for mass participation of the people for the development of the district.
