Nagaland: DMST, ENWO condemn rape of minor

Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): The Dimapur Molungkimong Senso Telongjem (DMST) has condemned the alleged rape of a minor girl by a resident of Diphupar ‘B’ village in Dimapur.

“The union have utmost intolerance against such a heinous crime as rape and warns against any of its member trying to bail out the accused or influence the course of investigation, so as to ensure fair and quick trial of the case by the investigating agency,” DMST stated.

Further, in pursuance of justice for the victim, the union requested the concerned authority to take appropriate action as per the provisions of the law against the accused if proven guilty.

The Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organisation (ENWO) also condemned the rape of the minor girl. While condemning the heinous crime, the ENWO said that such inhumane act cannot be tolerated in the Naga society and should be condemned by one and all.

ENWO urged the authority to book the perpetrator under relevant section of the POCSO Act and take stringent action to serve as an exemplary to all the rapists and deliver speedy justice to the victim.
