One person arrested for killing dog in Dimapur

Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): One person was arrested for killing a dog at Chümoukedima in Dimapur on Monday, August 31.

According to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Dimapur, a puppy, a labrador, killed a chicken on Monday morning and the owner of the chicken, in retaliation, killed the puppy.

The owners are neighbours, it was informed.

Another neighbour, who saw the puppy being killed, informed the owner after which the Chümoukedima police and the deputy commissioner (DC) of Dimapur were informed of the act. This was also confirmed by the DC to Eastern Mirror.

The accused person has been arrested and will be booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, the SPCA Dimapur said.
