New traffic regulations in Kohima over sinking road

Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): The superintendent of police, Kohima, has issued new traffic regulations in view of the sinking road at old KMC dumping site stretch of National Highway – 29. 

According to an update received on Tuesday, all light vehicles going down towards Dimapur from Kohima and vice-versa will be diverted to Jotsoma by-pass road. No heavy vehicles, buses or commercial pickup vehicles will be allowed to ply on this route.

Four, six and ten-wheeler vehicles, buses and commercial pickup vehicles coming up towards Kohima from Dimapur will be diverted to Peducha – 10th Mile – Tsiesema route from 5 pm to 6 am, the update informed.

All 10-wheelers and above heavy vehicles, trailers going up towards Kohima from Dimapur will be stopped at Peducha till the effected stretch at NH – 29 is restored. Heavy vehicles, buses, commercial pickup vehicles going down towards Dimapur from Kohima will take the Tsiesema – 10th Mile – Peducha route, it added.

Stating that the traffic regulation will be in effect till further order, the Kohima police has requested all commuters to comply with the order.
