Nagaland spent INR 1,455.59 lakh for installing 3 BSL labs

Kohima, Aug. 13 (EMN): The minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, informed that the bio-safety level-3 (BSL-3) laboratory at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and BSL-2 labs at Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR)  in Dimapur, and District Hospital (DH), Tuensang were installed for a total amount of INR 1,455.59 lakh, including GST.

Phom was responding to a starred question raised by NPF legislator Khriehu Liezietsu at the sixth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima on Thursday.

The breakup of expenses incurred in the procurement of three laboratories is: BSL-3 at NHAK – INR 856.15 lakh; BSL-2 at CIHSR Dimapur – INR 299.72 lakh, and BSL-2 at DH Tuensang (excluding transportation charges) – INR 299.72 lakh.

The minister said that the firms, which supplied the equipment for the laboratories, were Thermo Fisher Scientific India Pvt. Limited Mumbai, and Dritu Enterprise Guwahati, Assam.

Phom also informed that the department has purchased 20 TrueNat Quattro machines at the rate of INR 14, 50,000 per unit, amounting to INR 290 lakh; while 20,000 screening cartridges were bought at the rate of INR 1340 per unit, amounting to INR 268 lakh.

He stated that the TrueNat machines were purchased from M/s Nature-O-Tech in Guwahati, Assam.

The minister went on to inform that the department has purchased 64,950 PPE so far. He also produced the details of PPE rate per unit and the seven firms that supplied the protective gear.
