Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): The Covid kitchen in Longleng was formally closed on August 7 after serving the returnees at quarantine centres for 80 days.
A short thanksgiving prayer service was organised by the Covid-19 Kitchen Management Team led by Executive Secretary PBCA Tialemba Phom, Women Secretary PBCA Angbhen, and Literature Secretary Chingong, informed an update received here.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of DTF M Shayung Phom thanked the PBCA for earnestly and tirelessly serving the district in general and the returnees in particular. He thanked the women department PBCA led by Angbhen and Chingong for leading the team and successfully managing the Covid kitchen for 80 days.
Phom also expressed gratitude to the district administration, medical department, police and all the individuals for extending their co-operation during the quarantine period for the returnees.He further requested everyone to continue to extend their help and support in the fight against the virus.
The DC also said that “he is grateful to God for placing the current team of PBCA in their respective positions during the pandemic”.
Angbhen presented a detailed report of the 80 days activities and expenditures of the Covid kitchen, along with donations from individuals, churches and organisations. While highlighting various experiences accumulated during the period, she thanked the DC, Medical department and police for their service on behalf of the Covid kitchen team.
ADC D Robin, CMO Dr. Obangjungla, SP Yanithung Ezung and Tialemba Phom also spoke at the event, which was attended by members of DTF, district administration, Medical department, police, staff of PBCA, and representatives from civil society organisations.
