Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): With the objective to reach out to the drivers whose livelihood is effected due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the All Nagaland Taxi Association (Anta) Wokha unit on Saturday provided relief including rice, mustard oil, pulses, onion and salt to all its members (both local and regional taxi drivers).
This was the second time that the unit has contributed relief to it members, informed an update received from its information assistant.
During the distribution at its office in Wokha, the unit president, Hayithung Odyuo, urged all the drivers to strictly adhere to the laid down SOP and precautionary measures like wearing of face mask and use of hand sanitisers. He also advised taxis plying in an around the town to regularly disinfect their vehicles for the safety of passengers.
Odyuo further highlighted the activities undertaken by the association for the welfare of its members during this crisis.
General Secretary Lipenthung Ovung also advised the drivers to follow the odd and even traffic rules issued by the deputy commissioner.
The unit also expressed gratitude to MLA Dr. Chumben Murry, Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha and well wishers (taxi owners) who extended support during this testing time.
