Samples of Chennai returnees in Peren to be re-tested

Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): As the 28-day institutional quarantine period for Chennai returnees is about to be completed after a day or two, the Peren district task force on Wednesday resolved to selectively collect samples of the returnees again from quarantine centres and further send for re-testing in TrueNat machine at the district Covid-19 hospital.

The members also directed village and ward councils to keep the Chennai returnees in their respective community quarantine for 14 days more after they are released.

The district task force held a review meeting, presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang at the Customary Court, ADC’s office in Jalukie.

With regard to the nine female and five male returnees who are considered as under exempted categories, the house decided to ascertain proper address before transporting them to their respective sub-division.

99 Delhi returnees reach Peren

Peren district received a total of 99 Delhi returnees from Dimapur on June 16 at the Government Higher Secondary School ground in Jalukie. Out of 99 returnees, 56 were male and 43 were female.

On arrival, the returnees were screened by the medical team, after which they were segregated and sent off to their respective quarantine centres arranged by the district administration.

The district administration also provided them with food package and beddings.
