Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): The first IndiGo flight since lockdown landed at Dimapur Airport on Tuesday.
An IndiGo official informed that 64 passengers plus one infant arrived at 3 pm on Tuesday, and departed with 40 passengers at 3.30 pm.
All passengers were taken to the Agri Expo site, where the respective nodal officers were waiting, a Health official informed Eastern Mirror.
It was informed that IndiGo Airlines will operate daily flights to Dimapur.
“Usually only returnees for Dimapur, Mon and Peren are taken to Agri Expo (site) but today (Tuesday) all returnees from the airport were taken there and screened as the nodal officers in charge of respective districts were going to handle it from there,” informed the official.
Further, the official shared that the medical workers at Agri Expo site had a “tough time”, especially with the arrival of stranded citizens from Delhi. There were only 16 persons at the screening site since morning, it was informed. “Earlier with the NHM workers, we had a roster and shift system but now we work 24×7,” shared the medical worker.
On a relieved note, he said that Tuesday’s was the final special train to arrive in Dimapur carrying a large number of people.
“Smaller groups of people will be arriving time to time now by cars, buses, small trains from outside the state now, so it is a relief as of now,” said the frontline worker.
