Villages refusing to accept returnees will be de-recognised, says minister
Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): Highlighting the revised standard operation procedure, minister for Geology and Mining and Soil and Water Conservation, V Khashiho Sangtam said that refusal to accept returnees will be subjected to de-recognition of villages.
Stating that the state government has invested huge amount for transportation and quarantine facilities for the safety of returnees, he called on the public to acknowledge the efforts of the government and extend their co-operation and support.
Government has put all the developmental works on hold and investing for the Covid-19 pandemic, he added.
According to a DIPR update, the minister visited Primary Health Centre at Sitimi on the June 11.
The minister donated automatic hands-free sanitisers and INR 20,000 to the PHC, Sitimi for emergencies.
The advisor of Eastern Sumi Hoho, L Kahuvi Yepthomi, informed that to accommodate more people in the quarantine centre, extension works will be carried out soon. Elders and public are ready to extend their co-operation to the government, he added.
He also lauded the medical staff and other frontline workers for their services.
