Manipur govt. to e-mail budget documents to members of the House from next year

IMPHAL, Feb. 26 (EMN): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday informed that the state government will e-mail budget documents to all the members of the House on the day of introduction of the budget by next year.
Responding to a question raised by opposition MLA RK Imo, he said that the budget documents as prepared in the assembly were already uploaded on the state government’s website.
Imo reminded the House about presenting e-budget in the assembly which had raised in the assembly in 2015, to save money and trees for making papers.
Replying to another question for constructing police station at Irong Chesaba, the chief minister informed that land identification for constructing police station is under process and final decision on buying and compensation will be taken after identifying the land’s ownership.
He also informed that proposals for setting up of border haats at Tusom Christain village in Ukhrul district, Konkanthana in Huimine Thana and Pilong in Kamjong district have been submitted to the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, to promote cross border trade in the border areas of the districts.
He further said that there is also a plan to open custom office or check post at Kamjong and Kasom sub-divisions.
Drawing the attention of the House, the chief minister said that Indo-Myanmar border is about 1640 km and the border issue is a matter of serious concern.
Nine border haats have been identified, he said.
