Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): Officials of Nagaland House at Shillong in Meghalaya celebrated the state lodging house’s golden jubilee on October 26, with Meghalaya’s Home minister James Sangma as the special guest of the event.
Nagaland House is located in Nongrim Hills. It is a state-run government guest house that was established in the year 1969 to provide accommodation for visiting government officials and state dignitaries besides citizens of Nagaland in general.

The establishment is administrated by an assistant resident commissioner (ARC) who also serves as the nodal officer for the North Eastern Council. Nagaland House also serves as a liaison centre for the state in all official matters with the government of Meghalaya and Central establishments located in Shillong.

According to updates from the event’s organising committee, the first officer in charge of the establishment was CY Kithan who served as OSD.

“The present office has come a long way from OSD to liaison officer to ARC,” the press release stated.

Zhaleo Rio, advisor for Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, government of Nagaland, attended the event as the ‘jubilee patron.’

Members of the Naga community, well-wishers and the students’ community there took part in the celebration.
