State BJP president appeals to strengthen party

Dimapur, Aug. 1 (EMN): The president of Bharatiya Jnata Party (BJP) Nagaland state, Temjen Imna Along, has exhorted all party rank and file to make efforts to strengthen the party from top level to the grassroot level.

Addressing the party workers in Wokha town during a meeting on July 31, Imna Along cautioned the members against hankering for big post adding that their sincerity, hard work, dedication and integrity towards the party would define them and gradually elevate to the higher positions, a press release from the party media cell informed.

Along said that BJP was not favoured by many as they claimed the party to be the political wing of the RSS. He however stated that when the people voted for the party, the people are now eying to grab power by holding important posts.

The president assured to provide monthly allowance for its office maintenance and added that the party would make assessment as to what could be done to improve every district offices. He also disclosed that the government is trying every possibility to conduct municipal election smoothly in every district.

He encouraged the gathering to make the habit of going to church and pray more.

As a Christian BJP, he said that it should be the responsibility of everyone to project the image of the BJP as normal as any political party in a Christian state. He has encouraged to work together for peace and unity and let people know the love of God through their lifestyle, good work and integrity.

Anand Narayan Mishra, BJP organising secretary, and Senkathung Jami, president of kisan cell, delivered short speeches.
