Successful students of HSLC and HSSLC along with family members, organisers and others during the felicitation programme that was conducted at the MITE in Kohima on May 28.

Dimapur, May 28 (EMN): The Mao Union Kohima (MUK) and Mao Students’ Union Kohima (MSUK) jointly organised a felicitation programme for the successful students of HSLC and HSSLC and conferment of Ashikho Daili Trust award for academic excellence of HSLC at Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) in Kohima on Sunday May 27. A press release received here on Monday from the organisers informed.
President Mao Council Peter Khrasi, in his address challenged the successful students to do better in future saying that ‘nothing is permanent one has to keep striving to achieve in life.’ He advised the students’ community to have strong will and determination and put their aims into action and make it reality.
Kharsi also stressed the need of maintaining good health to enable them to work hard to be a successful person. He cautioned the students that the available of modern technology facilities should not drive away their attention to achieve something.
Encouraging the students, he said whoever shines in his / her studies in whichever subject would find the right job either in government sector or private organization. “Whoever said with the excuse that the present generations have too many educated persons and become jobless is a coward statement as educated people with quality will always get the right place to work,” he remarked.
The managing director of Modern College & MITE, Pelee Hekha in his exhortation said anyone who do not give up and keep striving by overcoming obstacles with positive mindset would become a successful and achiever in life.
Esther Chakre, who secured top 6th position in HSSLC (Arts), said determination is the key to success and need quality of study hours and not quantity. She attributed her success to God, teachers and family members. Asüsa Lirüna, who secured top 20th of HSLC also spoke during the programme.
Member secretary of Ashikho Daili Trust, James Athikho in his report said that the trust award was established in 2005 for the toppers of HSLC candidates and till date 13th toppers have been awarded since it established.
Patron of the trust, Ashikho Daili also exhorted the gathering and gave away the award and citation to HSLC top 20th.
Other successful candidates honoured by the organizers and Mao AG office staff with cash award.
