Dimapur DC asks power dept. to pull up socks

Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): With the onset of monsoon season, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Sushil Kumar Patel has urged the Power department to mobilise its staff and ensure regular checking of transformers to avoid load shedding.
While apprising the power department that in some areas, trees were seen touching the wires, he suggested them to tie up with respective village councils and to take corrective action in order to avoid untoward incidents.
Sushil Kumar has also particularly expressed concern on the road condition stretching from Commissioner Police office to Nagarjan and Circuit House. In responds, official from PWD informed the house that the particular stretch of road would be maintained at the earliest probably before monsoon.
The DC, who is also the vice chairman of Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), stated this while addressing the monthly DPDB meeting held on April 5 in his office’s conference hall.
Reviewing the last DPDB meeting, the house has decided to forwarded the proposal for registration of Highway Area Sumi Sports Association, Ikishe village, and upgradation of Spring Valley School, Chekiye village, for approval as all the criteria were found to be in place. Further, the house also decided to forward to the higher authority for registration of Friendship Old Age Home Society and Act of Kindness Society, Dimapur. With regard to registration of Cleaning Brothers Foundation, East Police Colony, Dimapur, the house forwarded the matter to DMC chairman, Dimapur, for further verification. For registration of Pine Firewood Dealers’ Union, the house entrusted SDO (C) Sadar for verification. Proposal for registration of some more societies was decided to be taken up in the next DPDB meeting.
In the meeting, DC Dimapur reminded the DDMA Dimapur district members to positively attend the meeting which is slated on April 7 in the DC’s conference hall.
