Backlash Response to Individuals Targeting PSAN

This is in response to the previously issued unauthentic article published by a bunch of educated fools, or not so educated to be able to rectify genuine organizations like PSAN which was formed by a group of like minded civil service aspirants solely for the purpose of fighting injustice being done to the civil service aspirants of Nagaland.

A strong reminder before I begin, I am an aspirant who’s not a member of the PSAN core team and therefore what I’m about to write next is purely based on my observations and conclusions.

To the bunch of signatories, listen up:

1) Let’s begin with your game of “Two faced people”. One does not simply accuse a body like PSAN for “placing totally misleading demand, giving nuances to a one sided and constricted view of the whole paradigm” calling them “baseless, unreasonable and frivolous” . And at the same time appreciating “the efforts of PSAN for standing against Backdoor Appointments in various departments”.

That Sir/Madam, If this demand of the PSAN was found questionable, then it should have been addressed to the core team in person rather than using this platform for showing off your “two faced” skills. The team has always welcomed opinions to be raised anytime, and therefore this only proves that this article has been based on your personal interests. PSAN has always been a house that welcomed ideologies and suggestions of the aspirants and have always proceeded with a decision that’s based on what the Aspirants as a whole wished for and never on its person all interest.

2) UPSC at max gives 209/275 , NPSC – 74/75. The whole point of PSAN’S demand was that of the high scores, Scoring 74 out of 75 is highly questionable. Atleast for the sake of NPSC standards, those ,marks were totally uncalled for. Therefore, the difference between 85 marks and 44 marks that have been brought out is not justified as the total marks is different (275 and 75).Simple maths error ( please get calculation skills checked too). The topper in upsc hardly reaches 1100 marks out of 1750 (please get the number from the marksheet given by UPSC) while here in NPSC, this year highest was 500.33/675. And a little more calculation in a style you prefer – UPSC ( 1750 – 1100 = 650) whereas NPSC (675 – 500.33 = 174.77).

UPSC has around 8 boards(please check) with different members to reduce any bias, NPSC has only 1 board with the same members interviewing all, Plus Nagaland is a small place, there are definitely good chances of conflict of interest.

There are handful of IAS who got less in interview around 150s (please check the no. in the list given by UPSC) while in NPSC 8 out of 12 eac posts got 70+/75, other 3 around 60+ and only one 42. Surprisingly in DSP post one can see many candidates in 40-50 range.(Please cross check this again).

I agree that personality is important, but unless we nagas are judged by a third party, this type of blame game and tribalism will go on perpetually. So, it is best that either subjectivity in interview is reduced by reducing marks that can be given in interview, or I don’t mind interview marks being 100 if we are judged by outside members.

3) We rather not talk about what goes around during any kind of interviews. Be it departmental exam interviews or even the NPSC interviews. Every single person in the state knows how manipulation and nepotism has always been the shadow of interviews. It’s a sad thing to see how much effort has been put in the article to glorify the Hard working students, but mind you PSAN has never questioned or denied the abilities of the aspirants. It has only pointed out certain shadow areas of the board which is openly unjustified to every aspirant. Therefore accusations made against PSAN as being a body that “takes sides and plays favouritism within their own group just to please a few people for their own gain, self interests and for selfish motives and agendas” is absolutely a huge mistake.

PSAN has always scrutinised and validated perspectives from every aspirants from all angles before placing their demands and have always welcomed suggestions which are biased and acceptable to every aspirant.

But yes, Maybe they missed out on the signatories of the article because they are either the classic examples of Backdoor Appointments or secret agenda bearers, Because based on how this article was framed, one can only say that PSAN has been targeted for an invalid cause.

Finally, dear PSAN core members, No matter what these bunch of baseless individuals have spoken against the team, I am here to remind you of how revolutionary and inspiring team you all have been. Do not let a handful of critics put you down or give up the good fight, for there are thousands of aspirants looking up to PSAN for all the great transformations and justified events that are on the way. And we believe in the good cause PSAN is fighting for and our extended support and prayers are with you all. Never give up, Keep the Good Fight Alive. GOD BLESS PSAN.
