SSHSS celebrated 25 years of existence

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]dvisor to Chief Minister, Lalthara said that to succeed in life one need to have the right ‘moral foundation’ without which every successfull person would fall. He was speaking during the silver jubilee celebration of St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School (SSHSS), Dimapur. Lalthara who worked part time during his school days narrated about the struggles he faced stated that SSHSS was first inaugurated by him in February 20, 1989 with a very humble start. ‘In 25 years of its existence along with so many developmental changes, it is one of the reputed upcoming schools in Dimapur area,’ he stated.
‘Once you are determined to do something, there is always a way’, Lalthara said adding that with true moral foundation success beholds but if the moral foundation is set in a wrong path, happiness will not go along with success and will always fall in life, he added.
Lalthara stated that ‘students’ are the best weapon to bring changes in the society. He also said that if changes are to be made in society, one needs to take the initiative in implementing and not waiting for others to initiate.
Earlier, Dr R Francis, founder director of SSHSS, in his welcome address highlighted about how the school was started with a vision to impart quality education and to mould and shape the students in becoming future leaders of the society.
The school which was established on February 20, 1989 had to prepone the date of silver jubilee celebration because of upcoming HSLC and HSSLC examinations.
The programme was enlightened by various performances by the school students and a special number by the International Theological College Seminary (ITCS) and the school anthem composed and directed by Dr Francis was sung by the school choir.
