8th WUPUK adopts resolution for clean election

Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN): The 8th Western Urban Panchayats Union Kohima (WUPUK), consisting of five panchayats under 8th western Angami assembly constituency, Kohima urban, in its first meeting held on Nov. 8, adopted three-point resolution to be implemented under its jurisdiction.
Honouring the resolution of the NBCC Clean Election Campaign and to reduce election expenditure by candidates in the forthcoming Assembly Election of 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency, the WUPUK resolved not to set up election camps for any intending candidates under the jurisdiction of the five panchayats. However, the WUPUK taking into consideration for the smooth functioning of political parties, having a temporary office for paper works only would be allowed with office closure timing by 7 p.m. The timing will be enforced in order to avoid anti-social activities and for peaceful environment, a press release from union secretary Zerüüzo Suohu and convenor Khrielakuo Sekhose stated.
The WUPUK also resolved that only one office for one candidate under one panchayat will be allowed and daily party feasting in the office will not be allowed for any party.
The house also resolved to organise a common platform for the intending candidates under 8th western Angami assembly constituency, urban areas, Kohima for the forthcoming assembly election suppose to be held in the month of February 2018 after finalization of the candidature.
