8 tribal bodies discuss formation of unified Naga body

DIMAPUR — Eight Nagaland-based tribal hohos held a consultative meeting at the Tourist Lodge in Dimapur on Friday to discuss the formation of a unified Nagaland tribal body.

Following the meeting that lasted over two hours, Advisor of Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation (NZPO), GH Ramlia told media persons that the unified Naga tribal body is intended for the Nagas of Nagaland, for the time being.

He reiterated that the meeting was convened to promote the formation of an apex Naga body, and that another meeting would be held in the near future, though the date has not been finalised yet.

Vezühü Keyho, President of Chakhesang Public Organisation, described the meeting as “quite okay” and expressed optimism about the outcomes.

He said that discussions about the nomenclature for the new organisation would be on the agenda for the upcoming meeting but refrained from elaborating further on the meeting’s conclusions.

Meanwhile, Razouvotuo Chatsu, the sessional chairman, disclosed that all the invited tribal organisations, including Angami Public Organisation, Ao Senden, Chakhesang Public Organisation, Lotha Hoho, Pochury Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Sumi Hoho, and Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation, participated in the consultative session on Friday.
