DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20

SEVEN students were injured when the school bus in which they were travelling met with an accident near Ungma village while it was on its way to Mokokchung at around 7.15 am today. Two of the seriously injured students were admitted to Imkongmeren Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) while the other injured were discharged after the first aid.
The bus carrying 20 school children turned turtle when the driver was negotiating a sharp turn while on its way to Mokokchung town from Clark Theological College.
One Lipokchuba, a 12-year-old student, is said to be serious as he received serious injury on his left shoulder, sources said. The driver who suffered internal injury is admitted to a private hospital.
OC Traffic Mokokchung said the brake failure of the bus must have caused the accident.
He said the owner of the bus and the parents of the students arrived at a compromise and therefore no case has been registered in this connection.
