Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): The three-week long 4th Kohima Super Cup, organised by Kohima Town Club (KTC) is scheduled to kick-off at IG Stadium Kohima on May 16 and conclude on May 31.
The tournament aims to provide a platform for upcoming local footballers and promote professionalism in football, an update stated.
The tournament will be open for any teams/clubs with a maximum slot of 40 teams. The tournament will be conducted in a knock out system, and league system (home and away) for the semifinal matches.
The champion will walk away with a cash prize of INR 1,80,000 along with trophy and citations, while the runner-up will win INR 1,20,000. The losing semifinalists will also get INR 30,000 each.
The individual awards include player of the tournament, most promising player, best coach, best referee, best midfielder, best keeper, best defender and highest scorer.
Forms are available at Sports Paradise, Kezieke; Hungry Me and Global Sports in Kohima. The entry fee for the tournament is INR 5000, while the last date of form submission is on May 10.
It may be mentioned that the 4th Kohima Super League 2021 was postponed due to the Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions. However, this year the club has decided to organise the Super Cup in order to accommodate more teams in the tournament.
