46 new Covid-19 cases; tally reaches 1385

Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): Forty-six more Covid-19 cases were reported on Monday, taking the tally in Nagaland to 1385 so far, according to an update issued by the state’s Health and Family Welfare department.

As of 3 pm, July 27, there were 811 active cases in the state; 569 recoveries; and five deaths, which came with an asterisk attached in the Health department update.

For the past few days, Health officials have been insisting that an investigation would be needed to establish the Covid-19 link in those five death cases.

As per the department’s update on Monday, there were 2593 persons in facility quarantine and 4510 persons in home quarantine.

According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, 808 active cases are asymptomatic, two active cases are mild and one active case is moderate.

“Till date, a total of 21,642 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 20,307 samples have been received. Out of the total of 14,489 samples received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 13,154 samples have been tested and 904 samples have tested positive.

“In addition, a total of 14,898 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat and 514 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR,” Sinha said in his daily Covid-19 briefing.
