3rd Nagaland Photography Festival culminates

MOKOKCHUNG — The 3rd Nagaland Photography Festival, organised by the Photography Club Dimapur along with Team Yimchalu, successfully concluded on September 21 in Yimchalu village under Mokokchung district.

The closing ceremony was attended by Imkong L Imchen, advisor of Information and Public Relations, Soil and Water Conservation, as the special guest.

In his address, Imchen emphasised the growing significance of photography in various aspects of daily life, including social and legal fields. He lauded the organisers for the successful execution of the event and expressed his belief that such festivals would contribute to the making of history by positively impacting society.

He further encouraged the youth to take up similar initiatives across Nagaland in order to promote and encourage the art of photography.

The special guest also presented awards to the winners of the cosplay competition held during the festival. Beeba Mutum and Moluzen Walling were awarded first and second prizes respectively.

The festival also featured a series of photography workshops.

Rothin Halders from Lumix conducted a master class on Indian weddings and their challenges, while Arpang Kalita from PCA led a landscape photography master class and Kallol Mukherjee from Nikon hosted a wildlife photography master class. The sessions provided valuable insights to budding photographers and enthusiasts.

The closing ceremony of the futsal competition, another highlight of the festival, was attended by Merentoshi R Jamir, former minister of Nagaland, as the guest of honour.

The festival concluded with musical extravaganza which featured the Mahila Band, Sanen J, Meribeni, Nungshi, Pcd Band and Arenchenla Walling.
