3rd Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament: Arkong trashes Kumlong in the opening match

Mokokchung, May 02 (EMN): Arkong humiliated Kumlong 4-0 in the opening match of the third Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament (MIWFT) at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on May 3.

The Arkong team, who took advantage of their home ground capitalised the game early in the soak pitch with a goal from Aripong in the 4th minute, followed by two goals each from Temsutoshi and Inovi before the first half 3-0.

Kumlong team was unable to regain their tempo as they got caught off-guard by Arkong’s forwards. The opponents continued their slaughter and Kumlong failed to fight back to regain control during the match. Arkong wrapped up the match with Nokcha scoring in the 42th minute, putting Kumlong in disarray as they could not master even a consolation goal.

Arkong kicked off their campaign with a big 4-0 victory and registered three points.

In the second match, Dilong snatched a 2-2 draw against heavy weight Tongdentsuyong, wherein Toshiwapang’s double equaliser helped Dilong catch a breath in its starting campaign.

Tongdentsuyong drew the first blood in the 28th minute through Opanglemzung. However, Dilong countered the score within a minute, as Toshiwapang shocked the opponent.

Entering the second half Tongdentsuyong striked hard again into the offense and got its reward in the 36th minute with a goal from Lanusosang. Meanwhile, team Dilong fought back, but they were not able to produce any key moments. However, in the 44th minute, it was Toashiwapang, who took the golden opportunity to equalize the score for Dilong 2-2.
