Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): The Thadou Students’ Association has announced that the association will be imposing 36 hours bandh in Imphal-Moreb, Imphal-Churachandpur, Imphal-Jiribam and lmphal-Dimapur roads starting from 6 am of January 16, over the failure of the state government to bring justice in the May 5 2017 Sugnu double murder case, the brutal murder of Thongkhogin Haokip, an Assistant Teacher at Molnom Junior High School, Tengnoupal District, on February 29, 2016, and the non-introduction of Thadou-Kuki (MIL) subject at Higher Secondary Schools in the valley.
The Thadou Students’ Association in a press note has appealed the general public, passenger transport associations, commuters, for earnest cooperation during the said duration of the bandh.
The association demand includes immediate transfer of Sugnu double murder case that took place on May 5 2017 to an independent investigating commission such as Central Bureau Investigation (CBI), immediate arrest of the duo culprits involved in the murder of (L) Thongkhogin Haokip, Asst Teacher, Molnom Junior High School, Pallel on February 29 2016 and, introduction of Thadou-Kuki (MIL) subject at Higher Seconday School in the valley districts of Manipur which has been long pending for implementation in spite of government order.
Medical, electricity, water supply, marriage/send-off ceremony, religion activities and airport will be exempted with prior permission from the concern TSA branch leaders in your district, it informed.
