Jalukie public rally
Dr. Tumda Newme addresses the gathering during a public rally on Covid-19 vaccination awareness at Jalukie town on March 12.

Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): To create awareness on Covid-19 vaccination, public of Jalukie town in Peren district organised a rally at the town area on March 12.

An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Peren, stated that representatives from the district administration, CMO establishment, St. Xavier’s College, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Nagaland Rural Livelihood Mission – Jalukie block, Jalukie Youth Organisation and Ashas attended the programme.

Chairing the programme, Heitona Zeliang, block extension educator from CMO’s office, welcomed all the participants and expressed her gratitude for attending the programme, while the invocation prayer was said by Ihusing Liegise, associate pastor of Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church.

Speaking at the rally, Dr. Tumda Newme, president of Zeme Council Nagaland (ZCN), has appreciated the gathering for their participation and reminded them to continue keeping vigilance as the pandemic is not over. While mentioning that the district has experienced less casualty unlike in other parts of the country, Dr. Newme stressed on prevention.

He urged everyone to be more careful and follow the appropriate behaviour and also avail the Covid vaccination, which according to him, is totally safe.

“We need to protect ourselves, our family and the public in general,” Dr. Newme added.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Hedungkiebe, DVBO/ district surveillance officer, from the CMO’s office.
