21-year-old Jine Singh crowned Miss Dimapur 2022

Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): 21-year-old Jine Singh was crowned Miss Dimapur, 2022, while Choichoi Lhoujem and Visakuo were adjudged the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.

Organised by Ethnic Group of Nagaland (EGoN), the pageant was held at IMC hall in Dimapur on Friday with H Haiying, advisor for Prison, Printing and Stationary, Nagaland as the special guest.

A total of 15 contestants competed in the pageant.

Individual subtitle winners include: Lihyeih Konyak – Miss Talent title, Jine Singh – Miss Personality and Style Icon, Halunchi – Fresh Face, Alovi Achumii – Miss Fitness, and Choichoi Lhoujem – Viewers Choice award.

Delivering a short speech, Haiying said that beauty pageants embody a woman with additional life skills that can be used to help the people in many ways.

He further shared that over the years, the notion of ‘beauty with a purpose’ has  evoked severe criticisms and sarcastic reviews from certain sections of people because some crowned beauty queens misused their titles. He, therefore,  requested the organisers to see to it that such incidents do not happen and that certain standards and norms are out in place to propagate the true essence of a woman in the contestants.

The judges for this year’s pageant were Toshizen, Lolano Patton, Zhanuo Metha Konyak, Ayangla Toko Longkumer and Avitoli H Yeptho.
