The trade licenses were cancelled due to alleged violation under various sections of the trading license under the administrative control of KAAC.

The orders were was signed and issued by the secretary, KAAC in-charge Taxation, Mukul Kathar.

The cancellation of trading licenses and closure of business establishments were made as per demand by the Karbi Students’ Association (KSA).

Earlier, KSA members demanded the chief executive member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, for cancellation of trading license and shutting down of the business establishment of Nishan Jain for his alleged involvement in immoral activities at Etta Bhetta (brick factory), Rongnihang No.2 under Diphu Police Station.

President, KSA, Thomson Rongpi, said on January 6 evening at around 8 pm, KSA members caught Jain red-handed in a compromising state with a woman.

A few days after the incident Jain filed a FIR at Diphu Police Station alleging that he was kidnapped and taken to a destination and asked to remove his clothes.

On Thursday, DC Diphu Madhumita Bhagawati called the KSA members at her official residence to discuss the present situation.
