IMPHAL,July 5: In a daring act, a gang of six unidentified masked men robbed a public bank in Manipur’s Thoubal district. The incident took place on Monday afternoon around 5 pm at HDFC Bank branch of Thoubal, about 30 km south of Imphal.
The unidentified men barged into the bank after overpowering the guard and six staffs with knife and sharp weapons, according to a delayed police report. The masked men allegedly took away around Rs 2 crores cash and gold jewelry from bank locker, sources said. The gang escaped from the scene with the loot in a car, the source informed. Soon after hearing the incident, the Thoubal district police is conducting raid in some of the suspected areas.
