KAAC to play against Mara District Council on Oct. 10

Diphu, Oct. 8 (EMN): The 1st Inter Sixth Schedule Councils Premier Football League, 2022 will commence today at different venues organised by the Sports and Youth Welfare department, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).

The team representing Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) left for Dimakuchi, Darang district on Saturday morning from Diphu for its first match against Mara District Council, Mizoram in Group-A to be played on October 10 at Dimakuchi playground.

Speaking to the coach of the KAAC team, Horen Engti Kathar, told Eastern Mirror that his boys are well prepared for their first campaign against Mara District Council. “Our boys are well prepared and ready to face the Mara District Council team at Dimakuchi on October 10. We hope to give our best,” Kathar said.

Team manager and physical Instructor of District Sports Officer, Karbi Anglong, Babu Singnar, Coach Kathar and assistant coach Rajen Rongpi are leading the team. Dr. Rostom Engti, a physiotherapist is also accompanying the team.

The KAAC team has four matches in the league rounds. The first match on October 10 with Mara District Council, the second on October 12 against Dima Hasao Autonomous Council at District Sports Complex, Mushalpur, Baksa; on October 14 against Khasi Hills District Council, Meghalaya at District Sports Complex, Mushalpur, Baksa and on October 16 against Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous district Council, Tripura at Dimakuchi playground, Udalguri district.

Sarlindok Ronghang and Rajesh Terang are the goalkeepers; in defense are Deuri Kro, Tensson Tisso, Harbamon Timung, Chesong hanse, Kamalson Rongphar and Bodonsing Terang’ in mid-field are Dr. CA Laldignsang Pudaite, Harbamon Teron, Suman Teron, Vikash Langneh, Lachit Bora and Jirjar Terang; and in forward are Malongkiri Tisso, Pritom Dera, Binong Engleng, Kiratpo Tisso, Babu Timung, Jeetison Enghi, Pinchong Tisso and Vishal Gurung.
