1st Inter Sixth Schedule Councils Premier Football League from Oct. 9

Diphu, Sep. 28 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) is participating in the 1st Inter Sixth Schedule Councils Premier Football League, 2022 organised by Sports and Youth Welfare department, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) from October 9.

Altogether, 10 teams are participating in the tournament representing different sixth schedule councils of the northeastern states of India.

In Group A are Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, Meghalaya; Mara Autonomous District Council, Mizoram; Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, Tripura; Dima Hasao Autonomous Council and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

While in group B are Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, Meghalaya; Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council, Meghalaya; Bodoland Territorial Region; Lai Autonomous District Council Mizoram and Chakma Autonomous District Council, Mizoram.

The matches will be played in five venues namely Dimakuchi playground in Udulguri district, SAI, SAG Centre, Kathalguri, Kokrajhar, District Sports Complex, Mushalpur, Baksa district, Bijni District Sports Association playground, Chirang district and Kokrajhar District Sports Association stadium, Kokrajhar.

Karbi Anglong will play their first match on October 10 against Mara District Council, Mizoam at Dimakuchi playground; on October 12 against Dima Hasao Autonomous Council at District Sports Complex, Mushalpur, Baksa; on October 14 against Khasi Hills District Council, Meghalaya at District Sports Complex, Mushalpur, Baksa and on October 16 against Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, Tripura at Dimakuchi playground, Udalguri district.

The semi-finals will be held on October 20. The champion team will carry home a cash prize of INR 3 lakh and trophy, runner- up team with a cash prize of INR 2 lakh and trophy, and third place with a cash prize of INR 1 lakh and trophy.

The man of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of INR 25,000 with a trophy, the highest scorer INR 25,000 and trophy and man of the match INR 10,000 with trophy in every match.
