Dimapur, Jan. 6: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Chozuba, in Phek district, has promulgated section 144 CrPC in Chozuba town following a scuffle between security personnel and a mob opposing the town council elections.
According to a DIPR report, a mob opposing the town council elections tried to forcibly snatch away nomination papers at ADC office Chozuba town on January 5 last. It reported that in the midst of the scuffle between the mob and security personnel inside the ADC’s office, some government properties including office windows were partially damaged.
The order will remain till further orders, it added.
