11th Kohima Open Volleyball Tournament finals today
KOHIMA — The finals of the three-day-long 11th Kohima Open Volleyball Tournament (Men and Women), under the aegis of the Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA), will take place on November 1 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Roko Angami, OSD (sports), Department of Youth Resources and Sports, and former international football player, will be the special guest at the closing function scheduled for 2 pm.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Rokovikho Chale, president of the Angami Sports Association (ASA), attended the second day of the tournament as the match patron.
In Thursday’s quarterfinal match in the men’s category, Senapati Sporting Club defeated Kiruphema Youth Organisation-A, while Japfü Range Volleyball Club overpowered Küsoma Youth Society, Mima.
Blind Spikers Akuluto VK registered a win over Bond of Brothers Chesezu, while Kiruphema Youth Organisation-B defeated Michazou Jr. Mima in another quarterfinal match.
In the women’s category, Senapati Sporting Club defeated NAYSA-D, while Shürho Mountain Club Kigwema registered a win over Team Ace, Kohima.
MADFA Club Dimapur defeated NAYSA-D, while Senapati Sporting Club triumphed over Shürho Mountain Club Kigwema in the fourth match. In the fifth match, MADFA Club Dimapur defeated Team Ace, Kohima.
The semifinal matches will take place on November 1, starting at 9:30 am. In the first semifinal of the men’s category, Senapati Sporting Club will face Blind Spikers Akuluto VK. The second semifinal will feature Japfü Range Volleyball Club against Kiruphema Youth Organisation-B.
In the women’s final, Senapati Sporting Club will compete against MADFA Club Dimapur.
