11 new Covid-19 cases reported in Nagaland, 18454 in India

Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 11 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 31,670 and active caseload to 250.

The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 29,717 with recuperation of 15 more patients in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 662 following one fatality.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, four positive cases were reported in Dimapur, three in Wokha and two each in Mokokchung and Kohima.

Of the 15 new recoveries, seven were reported in Dimapur, three each in Kohima and Phek and one each in Mokokchung and Peren.

Nagaland currently has 250 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 180 are asymptomatic, 54 mild, nine moderate on oxygen, four severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator, and two in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 128, 46 in Kohima, 30 in Tuensang, 25 in Mokokchung, eight in Longleng, six in Wokha, three in Mon, two in Peren and one each in Kiphire and Phek, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-free.

18454 fresh cases in India

India recorded a single-day rise of 18,454 fresh coronavirus infections on Thursday, pushing India’s Covid-19 tally to 3,41,27,450, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It stated that death toll from the pandemic climbed to 4,52,811 with the addition of 160 more fatalities.

Meanwhile, 17,561 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,34,95,808, while the number of active cases stands at 1,78,831.

It further stated that the cumulative Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed the 100-crore milestone.
